Kwek Kok Kwong

Chief Executive Officer

Kwek Kok Kwong has been the Chief Executive Officer of NTUC LearningHub (LHUB) since February 2013. Prior to joining NTUC, Kok Kwong served with distinction in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) for 27 years before retiring as a Brigadier General on 31 July 2012.

Under his leadership, Kok Kwong has brought LHUB to greater heights in promoting lifelong learning under Skillsfuture in Singapore. LHUB is today a leading training provider for Info Comms Technology (ICT), Workplace Safety and Health, Service Excellence, Security and Workplace Literacy. Over the last few years, Kok Kwong has led LHUB to expand its suite of offerings to include training in leadership, design thinking, productivity, human resource and eldercare. He has also grown an organic capability to promote learning through e-learning and blended learning.

Kok Kwong strongly believes in lifelong learning and applies this thinking in his own organisation. For 2017, he and his management team currently spend a morning every week to learn about lean processes and apply lean concepts to excel in operations management. He also advocates that everyone in the organisation learn something new in 2017.

In his learning journey, Kok Kwong graduated with Honours in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge in 1989, a Masters of Arts (Arts and Social Sciences) in 1993, and a Masters in Public Administration, with the Lucius N. Littauer Fellow distinction in 2002. In 2016, Kok Kwong learnt about business innovation with IMD. In his free time, Kok Kwong continues to learn through seminars and books, and he is today a certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner. He is currently learning how to play a guitar, something which he missed out in his younger days. 

Terence Hoon

Chief Financial Officer

Terence is responsible for the overall finance control of LHUB. His primary responsibilities involve managing the Financial risks and planning, as well as financial reporting of performance and forecast to our Board of Directors.

He has 16 years of experience in regional financial management across various industries such as the logistics, manufacturing and IT.  He had work in China for four years with JDEdwards.  In his most recent position, Terence was with Keppel Logistics as a Financial Controller covering various Asian countries in areas of controllership, enterprise risk management, financial due diligence and Merger & Acquisition. He was in the board of director for two of the subsidiaries, Transware Distribution and Keppel Logistics Malaysia.

Terence received a Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University and his MBA from Calstate University, Hayward.

Bryan Quek

Senior Director, Trades Campus

Bryan is the Senior Director of Trades Campus in LHUB. As head of the largest campus in LHUB, he is responsible for managing the trades training business that equip workers of all levels with practical skills required in the areas of Workplace Safety and Health, Heavy industries, Security, Cleaning and Manufacturing.

With more than fifteen years of sales, business development and P & L management experience in various industries like telecommunication, IT, transport and training, Bryan has held key management positions in various dynamic organisations.

Prior to joining LHUB, Bryan took on the role of General Manager for a transport company on a 12 years loss making streak and was instrumental in turning the company around to become profitable.

Bryan holds a B.Eng (Hon) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Loughborough University, UK and a MBA from Imperial College, UK.

Sivakami D/O Gopalakrishnan

Senior Director, Employability Campus

Sivakami is the Director of Employability Campus in NTUC LearningHub. The Employability Campus complements the work of the Labour Movement in helping workers gain work and life skills that transform their lives, helping them to remain employable, and to grow and improve themselves through lifelong learning.

She started her career in NTUC LearningHub since its incorporation as a Curriculum Manager before moving on to sales. In the last 7 years, Sivakami was able to be part of and managing the various sales teams in LHUB. In her last role as the Assistant Director of Sales, she had the opportunity to work with the full spectrum of customers that LHUB served – individuals, unions, labour intermediaries and corporate organisations.

Prior to joining LHUB, Sivakami spent 3 years in NTUC Administration and Research Unit (ARU) Skills Development Department. She was involved in curriculum development and the running of the IT Training Centre.

Sivakami holds a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science & English Language) from National University of Singapore.

Anthony Chew

Director, Next U Campus

Anthony heads the Next U Campus – a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTUC LearningHub. Prior to that, he has worked in the education and training industry for the past 15 years, holding various functions.

After his 4-year stint as a Senior Academic Staff with Republic Polytechnic, Anthony joined NTUC LearningHub as a Senior Training Manager, overseeing courseware and trainers’ management. With his quest to better understand industry needs and demands and coupled with his vast sales experience, Anthony made an internal transfer to become the Senior Sales Manager, heading the Institute of Business Excellence sales team.

Anthony hopes to develop in-house pedagogy using more technology-based, engaging and modern teaching and delivery methods. Being experienced in sales management, he has a deep understanding of the industry’s business and training needs. In his previous position as Head of CMD, Anthony was well positioned to lead his team to provide total solutions that were unique to each client.

Anthony graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, majoring in Finance. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration from Nanyang Technological University, majoring in Accountancy.

Darren Lee

Head, Corporate Communications and Marketing

Darren heads the Corporate Communications and Marketing Department. The department oversees all marketing and public relation matters for NTUC LearningHub, Next U and Learninghub Global Institute.

He started his career in LHUB as an Assistant Center Manager in Operations in 2010 and was able to understand the business core of LHUB through his various engagements with both internal as well as external stakeholders and customers when holding the portfolios of a Center Manager and Business Manager before overseeing marketing and communications matter in his current portfolio.

Darren holds a Bachelor of Science in Multimedia Design & Technology from the University of SIM and is currently pursuing his Masters in Business Administration with the Manchester Business School.

Joe Tey

Director, Consumer Sales

Joe heads the Consumer Sales Department. The department comprises of Direct Sales, Branch Management and Call-centre (individuals). He is responsible for managing the Direct sales island-wide road-show, day-to-day operations of our network of branches and sales centre and an in-house call-centre for individuals.

He has more than 19 years of sales, people management, customer service and retail operations in various sectors like Services, Banking and Finance, Insurance and Property. Some organisations he hailed from include Singpost, Citibank, OCBC Bank and Far East Organisation.

Joe holds a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) from Queensland University of Technology, Australia.

Harry Klass

Head, Capability Management

Harry heads the Capability Management Department (CMD). He has held positions in the Armed Forces, Oil & Gas, Retail and Continuing Education industries.

A recipient of the Singapore Workforce Development Agency’s (WDA) scholarship in 2013, Harry has risen through each industry by leveraging on the WSQ system and progressed horizontally across different industries.

A strong believer in continuing education has seen Harry developed his skills in different areas of the education sector, especially in the area of e-content development, eLearning architecture and Omni-channel instructional design.

In the blended learning space, Harry has worked with different partners and developers in creating different learning environments and curriculum that enable learning with the use of virtual simulations, interactive videos and engaging contents.

Harry graduated with 2nd upper class honours in Retail Marketing from the University of Stirling in 2015.

Lucy Seah

Head, Human Resources

Lucy heads the Human Resources Department. The department develops, aligns and implements Human Resource initiatives to support the overall business plan.

She has many years of professional working experience in human resource management in diverse industries ranging from manufacturing, healthcare, pharmaceutical to food retail.  Being a strategic business partner, she drives HR initiatives in support of business objectives and corporate goals and enhancing employee engagement in the pursuit of organizational objectives.

She holds a Master of Science in Human Resources from Edinburgh Napier University and a Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from University of SIM.
